Steeple Options & Accessories
We have a large number of optional adornments for your steeple including crosses, windows, lightning protection, louvers, Krinkglas®, balls, and decorative panels. The styles in our catalog illustrate some of the most popular combinations of steeples we build. However, these options can be arranged in other combinations to produce different effects to create a combination tailored for your design.
Steeple Crosses
This optional feature can be added to any of our steeples. Our crosses are permanently attached and aligned during the construction process therefore eliminating the possibility of tilting or rotating after your steeple is installed. Steeple crosses are featured in our church crosses section.
Steeple Ball
This optional feature is one size fits all and can be added to any of our steeples. Located between the steeple’s spire and cross, the ball is an attractive enhancement to any steeple cross.
Lightning Protection
This is an optional feature that can be added to any steeple. An aluminum basket weave cable will run from the top of the steeple to the bottom so it is ready for your contractor to take additional cable and run it to the ground. To facilitate this process, additional ground cable can also be purchased.
Venting Louvers
Horizontal, parallel slats set in a frame, serving both as a decorative feature and ventilation. This upgraded feature is often purchased if the church plans to add a bell or a sound system.
Simulated Louvers
Provide a beautiful enhancement and decorative ‘louver look.’ Comes as standard on some steeples.
Krinkglas®
Also known as “K” Glass, these fiberglass reinforced decorative panels give the appearance of stained glass but are stronger, lighter and more affordable. This virtually unbreakable feature can be enhanced with interior lighting. We place the light fixture so it’s ready for your electrician do the wiring or to connect it to a timing system.
Decorative Panels
Framed panels which serve as a decorative feature. Some decorative panels can have Krinklglas® with ‘Praying Hands’ or ‘Crosses’ applied.

What size steeple do we need for our building?
A good rule of thumb is for the steeple to be the same height as your building at the point where the steeple will be set, and for the base width to be 1/10th the width of your building.
What accessories are available to personalize our steeple?
Fiberglass Unlimited steeples can be personalized to fit your needs with a variety of standard options, including lightning package, spire crosses, louvers, windows and applied moldings.

What about installation details and specifications?
Fiberglass Unlimited steeples and cupolas are simple and easy to install for anyone with basic construction experience. Components simply stack and bolt together (they're pre-fit at the factory to assure ease of installation).
What is a roof pitch and how do I determine mine?
The roof pitch is the slope of your roof. You can determine yours with a level and tape measure. Click Here for more info.
Can we screw an eye bolt into the top of the spire to lift it up onto the church?
The top of the spire is threaded and reinforced to hold a cross or lightning package, but it is not designed to support the entire weight of the spire.
Can we paint the unit when it arrives?
Typically, there is no need to paint a Fiberglass Unlimited steeple. For an additional charge, we can produce your steeple in a custom color of your choice. Since our gel-coat finishes are permanently molded into the surface of the fiberglass laminate, we recommend that nay special colors be ordered when ordering the steeple, rather than attempting to change the color after you've received it. After the steeple has been up for a few years, the constant exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays may dull the finish, or cause the color to fade or change. Polishing the surface with automotive compound followed by paste wax can bring back the shine and luster. If a new color is desired, the steeple can be painted in much the same way a fiberglass car body would be painted, by lightly sanding the finish and applying paint with a professional quality spray gun.
